Establishment of infrastructure to support International Prospective Clinical Trials in Stem Cell Transplantation (CLINT)

CLINT is a European Union funded project, run as a Specific Support Action (SSA) under the Framework 6 Programme

It is a 2 year project aimed at supporting the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) to develop the infrastructure for the conduct of trans-European clinical trials in accordance with the EU Clinical Trials Directive. It also aimed to facilitate International Prospective Clinical Trials in Stem Cell Transplantation (SCT) by overcoming recognised obstacles to trans-national research in HSCT. The background and key issues involved for the SCT community are summarised in the Project Information.

The main goals of the project are to:

  • Establish the methodology to support prospective clinical trials
  • Standardise essential data collection and develop a clinical trials database
  • Overcome ethical problems of trans-national access
  • Design and develop a portal for information exchange
  • Improve biostatistical methodology for studies in SCT
  • Disseminate the results as widely as possible
  • Financial and management reporting to the EU

A full overview of these project areas is given in the Work Package Overview

The following full partners & associated partner* are collaborating together on this project:

  • Imperial College, London, UK (Project Co-ordinator)
  • European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT)
